Redesign

Liftoff

Liftoff’s offerings had expanded, and as they became a full-service mobile app marketing and retargeting platform, they needed a website that reflected their new positioning. Our team at R/GA partnered with their internal teams to deliver an end-to-end solution for the liftoff.io redesign, including Experience Strategy and Design, Branding Refresh and Visual Design, Development and Content Migration, as well as Documentation and QA.

 
 
 

Audit


Prior to the website redesign we identified the need of first evolving their brand, in order to build a stronger visual foundation and a more robust look and feel. Below was our initial audit on how Liftoff was at the time presenting itself in different touch points. 

 
 
 
 

Evolving the Liftoff Brand


It quickly became clear that they had some significant inconsistencies both visually and in tone of voice. We also noticed how illustrations played a big part on their brand and messaging, so developing an unified illustration style would go a long way.

 
 
 
 
 

Bespoke Illustrations


For the new illustrations we partnered with Petra Sitaru, an illustrator based in Barcelona, Spain. Together we brainstormed and developed dozens of unique illustrations — from characters with diverse ethnicities and backgrounds, to a variety of cities and landscapes, as well as bespoke scenes for some of the more high visibility product pages. 

 

Modular System


We also developed a modular system that allowed us to generate hundreds of illustrations, by creatively combining and overlaying pre-existing pieces in unique yet systematized ways.
